Who do you think is better, Aerith or Tifa?

I say Aerith. I thought she had a friendlier personality. Tifa was a bit of a bitch, especially when she was a kid. And she spent a lot of the game lying to Cloud and making his identity issues worse. Once you get towards the middle of the game, her limits are less impressive. One upside for Tifa, she actually survives to the end. Aerith was a more useful character in battle and I thought she was more well-rounded. I also think Aerith and Cloud make a better couple. She was a softer, more feminine character which I think suited his personality better.

So, discuss the relationships between Aerith and Tifa, the girls and Cloud, among other party members, etc. Compare their personalities, weapons, battle skills, etc. List your favorite and say why.

I like Tifa. I always chose her for the date in gold Saucer. Sure, she survives, but that's not the main reason. Aerith and Cloud never seemed to really be a true couple. She seemed a little bit flirty with him, but they never seemed to really be a pair. Tifa may have lied to him, at the beginning, but by the end, everything came around better. She truly did care for him, more I think than Aerith did. At least form a romantic perspective. In fact, I think Tifa was lying to herself as much as she was lying to Cloud. By the time you got to the end of the game, she was living in the same false reality as Cloud almost, though more by her own reluctance to admit it than by an inability to realize it.

And besides, I like the fact that she's slightly bitchy.

At the same time though, I think that Cloud cared more for Aerith than he did Tifa. I think he certainly cares for Tifa, but not as much as she cares for him. And Aerith doesn't care for Cloud as much as he cares for her. Either way, this relationship is really messed up.

I won't say I didn't notice. Everyone noticed. Especially at the end when Cloud tosses her up on the cliff and that's all that holds her up there. But Lora Croft was well endowed too, and I always that she was ugly as sin. Besides which, if you're that easily swayed by a virtual character's cup size, you're just sad.

Tifa was my fav she stayed by Cloud and helped him find himself if not for he this game would not be what it was she gave him every thing he needed to become the Cloud we all now and love

I would have to say Tifa because she obviously stayed through for the whole game. I like her better in Advent Children and she is an awesome fighter.

But i'm not saying that i hate Aerith. She was an awesome character too but i kinda didnt think she was that useful.

tifa, mostly because aerith never loved him
(Note my fave female chara is aerith..lol) she loved zack and she saw a lot of zack in cloud and basically used cloud to replace her lost love. Im not saying she meant to but shes not really attracted to anything cloud is, more attracted to the fact that he could be her second zack, being a "first class soldier" with similar memories and the same huge sword..
