OK, so many of the FF final bosses are really very easy. What did you think was the hardest one?
For me, I have to say that Neo X-Death from FFV is the hardest. 4 different hit locations, and most of your most powerful spells could only hit one at a time. And his attacks could be really brutal. wiping out one or more characters at a time. I'm also wanting to say there were status effects involved, though I don't remember for sure. He could easily back me into a situation where I was just struggling to not be dead. I was doing nothing but healing and reviving party members and he was dragging them down so fast I never had a chance to hit him. That fight was brutal. A close second for me was Jecht in FFX. A lot of people seem to think he's easy, but I can't ever take him. I think a large part of that owes to the fact that I never managed to get my characters to the point where they can break damage limit. I basically slammed him with Aeon overdrives and then left the Magus sisters out there to see what they could do. And it was all they could do just to keep themselves alive. Jecht is fast as hell, especially in his second form. It's hard to keep up. And I know that technically, Yu Yevon is the final boss of FFX, but come one people. Auto life. Impossible to die. He sure as hell doesn't count. I will give an honorable mention to the Reborn Emperor from FFII. It's definitely not my favorite FF, but I'll give him credit he was hard. In fact I'll even say that he was the final boss I had the most trouble defeating. His physical attacks hit for about 3000-4000 HP a piece, and they were all drains. Not to mention he was always under haste, and was fast enough by himself. As fast as you could hast yourself and dispel his haste, he'd dispel yours and renew his and have attacked you some more. So why is he just an honorable mention? Blood Swords. In FFII, the Blood Sword was a shitty weapon, based simply on it's stats. I saw the stats on them and sold them right off. It was a really horrible choice on my part. It turns out the Blood Swords are especially strong against bosses. Including our pal the Emperor. Once you enter a boss fight, this really poor weapon becomes the best thing you can wield. It's devastating. By simply having the blood swords equipped to as many party members as you can, this really hard boss becomes a piece of cake. If you don;t have them though, look out cause you're in for one hell of a fight. So how about y'all? Who did you find hard to beat? |

The only one that got me even a little was Necron (FFIX). Now I can't even remember why I had trouble, because on later playthroughs I've had no trouble at all. Jecht in X was a little tricky for me the very first time through X, but I was grossly underleveled and just trying to bullshit my way through. Kefka, Sephy, Ultimecia, Vegnagun *rolls eyes*, and whatever the fuck they called Vayne at the end of XII (The Undying?) were all easy for me.

I changed my mind after finishing up all the hunting in FF12
Yiazmat is the hardest boss ever... takes hours to defeat and on top of that there are traps all over the place, stat lowering magic is useless and once you get him below 50% hp you can only do 6999 dmg on him(assuming you do 9999 normally) if you run too far away hell start healing massive HP and buff himself and after his hp is reaaaly low his damage output is insane

Oh Yiazmat is cake. He only regenerates HP if you run away and stay in the same screen. If you leave the area entirely, he won't. You can run to the save point and refill your HP/MP. You can even run back to a town and refill on your supplies. Go back and so long as you run directly to him, his HP is exactly where it was when you left.
Omega, on the other hand, does exactly what you say. Leave the area and his HP is back to full. Retreat to recover from his assault but stay in the area, and his HP regens like crazy. It stinks. |

I just played FFVIII again, and I had alot of trouble beating Ultemicia. I never had an issue with her before, but she gave me a rough ride this time.
